Code Blue
Anemic.
That word best sums up McCain's campaign to date. The McCain camp is acutely aware that time is running out as evident in the Maverick's many poor attempts at humor in Tuesday night's debate in Nashville. With 27 days left in the race, the "Straight Talking Express" had better start doing exactly that. McCain came across as coarse and colicky and his desperation was palpable. You spoke, Mr. McCain, we listened.
He made several distinctions about his opponent that were false. With the debate focusing on the current economic situation, for example, McCain tried to drive the point home that Senator Obama will raise taxes for the average US citizen, stating that Obama had voted to raise taxes 94 times, which is absolutely false. More simple GOP fear mongering.
McCain suggested that his health care plan would put the consumer back into the driver's seat and he promised "to keep families in their homes, avoid foreclosures, save failing neighborhoods, stabilize the housing market and attack the roots of our financial crisis" but without the votes in Congress, neither seem very likely.
Truth is that even the most staunch Republicans, like Karl Rove, are beginning to accept the fate of John McCain and his failure to best Obama. The next four weeks are crucial for McCain and he must show that he is not as confused about his programs as he seems.

Whatever, McCain is better able, better prepared and ready on day one. Go ahead and waste your on Obama if you want.
What do you expect from the reformed maverick? He is not appealing to the center anymore. He Babels on with untrue statements that seem to have worked in the past, but now information is only a couple clicks away. With so many "fact checkers" out there, we can easily discern what is right and wrong, or merely half right and half wrong.
Make no mistake, the Conservatives have pulled the wool over the eyes of the American people, but now we are Finlay waking up and seeing that it's not all sunny on this side of the pasture. As we move forward, I strongly believe and I most definitely hope that more Americans will wake up. This is no longer a republican/democrat race, it is a race for change. I don't think I could stomach, nor can the American people, another 4-8 years of the same.
There are so many issues that we can address here: the economy which warrants more regulation on businesses, the social security/medicare, which warrants serious overhaul, the war in Iraq which needs to be brought to a close, the war in Afghanistan which needs to be a priority, the civil injustices that the current administration shells out like tootsie rolls on Halloween which must be over turned. I am tired of hearing that the terrorists are going to get you if you vote democratic. I am tired of my fellow Americana's civil liberties being infringed upon, all in the name of ousting terrorists. If we give up any rights that we were once accustomed to, then the terrorists have done their job.
I think that the best thing for America is a president who loves this country. Who acknowledges our shortcomings and strives to fix them. The rest of the world is watching and what they seem to get that 40% of Americans don't, is that we are important to the rest of the world and our problems quickly become the problems of everyone else. When we fail, the world as a whole fails.
Let's pick up the pieces and rebuild what's left of our government. Let's show the world what we do when we're dealt a bad hand! My fellow Americans, now is the time to show everyone what it means to be an American! Get out there and let everyone know that we can't put up with this anymore.
